Special Education Teacher
Job description
We are looking for a WA State certificated teacher to educate a 5-8 student, mixed-age class of 5-7 year olds and perform weekly check-ins to provide guidance to homeschooling parents.

Our motto is joy in learning and it can be seen with our indoor climbing wall, an indoor trampoline room, and among our class pets including a bearded dragon (George), pet rats (Dipper and Stan), pet rabbit (Burrito) as well as our on-site farm program with chickens, quail, and horses.

You will nurture each child's talents and interests and help them continue to develop in their strengths while also providing them with tools and support so they may develop in the areas where they struggle.

You will customize your (5-8 students) class's ELA and Math curriculum to the state standards that they are working to achieve (e.g. can count by 10s; can identify the beginning, middle, and last sounds of words, etc.)
You must have a great love and patience for children.

Qualifications needed to teach at All-Star Academy effectively include knowledge of best practices of individualized education methods as well as the ability to engage wholeheartedly and earn each student's trust and attention. Knowledge of educating children who have learning differences and are gifted (2e) is ideal. Candidates should have a deep understanding of and appreciation for indigenous culture, ways, and traditions. We value educators who can integrate culturally responsive teaching practices, fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
